How do I do a Google Forms test?
Create a test
- To create a quiz in Google Forms, start by opening the desired form. Then go to the settings menu at the top of the page.
- From there, activate the “Convert to Test” option.
- If you want to collect participants' email, head to the “Responses” section and use the down arrow to access this feature and enable it.
Add questions
- To create a quiz in Google Forms, first open a new form.
- Then, to add a new question, click on the designated icon. Before writing a question, select the appropriate question type from the list on the left side of the question input field.
- Next, type the question you want to ask.
- For questions that require specific answers, enter the available answer options.
- If you want to select a correct answer, specify the point value for each question, or add annotations, you can click on the “Answer Key” option where you can complete these steps.
Edit questions
- To copy a question to another location, you can use the drag icon at the top of the question.
- If you want to increase the details of the question, you must click on the More icon and then choose the Description option.
- To attach a photo to the question, tap the Add Photo icon.
- To insert a video from YouTube, click on the Add Video icon.
- To delete the question permanently, click on the delete icon.
Add questions specifying answers and points
- To insert a new question into the test, click on the “Add Question” icon.
- Write the text of the question and the suggested answer choices.
- To select the correct answer, go to the “Answer Key” option located at the bottom right of the question window and choose the exact answer.
- To set the number of points for each question, this is done through the menu at the top left of the question window.
- If you want to add an explanation to the answer, whether text or visual such as a YouTube video, you can do this through the “Add answer comments” option.
- To modify any of the questions or choices, simply click on the question or answer you want.
Customize the test
- You can modify the design of shapes, adjust fonts, and organize sections in a way similar to setting up a preset form.

- You have the ability to control what information participants can see during and after the test.
- You can choose whether wrong, correct answers, or points will be visible to them.
- To change these settings, start by opening the test in Google Forms.
- At the top of the test, tap “Settings.”
- Then, choose “Respondent Settings” and make the adjustments you deem appropriate as needed.
Preview and submit the test
You can check the contents of the test and arrange it at a time that suits you.
Once you feel ready, share the test with relevant people via email or SMS.
Preview the form yourself
- To view the content you have prepared, you can click on the “Preview” option located in the upper left corner of the page; A new window will appear displaying the preview.
- If you want to make any modifications to your content, you can click on the “Edit” option, or return to the original editing interface.
- To submit quizzes using email, open the quiz in Google Forms, then choose “Submit” from the top-right corner.
- You must enter the email addresses of the recipients, along with a title and content for the message.
- To ensure the test goes directly in the message, choose the Include form in message option before clicking “Submit.”
Share the test link
- To take a test via Google Forms, start by selecting the desired test form in the upper left section of the page and then click the “Submit” option.
- Next, at the top of the page, you will find a chain-like icon, click on it.
- If you want to make the title shorter and more streamlined, you can choose to shorten the URL before continuing.
- The next step is to click “Copy” to take a copy of the generated link.
- Finally, you can paste this link into any chat or email to share.
Grading a test
- If you want to see specific answers in the test, you can click on the “Answers” option located at the top of the test page.
- To assign points for each question within a test, tap the question itself.
- If you want to evaluate the results based on each user, click on the name of the user in question.
- If you want to see an analytical summary of the test results in general, choose the “Summary” option from the menu.
Send test results
You may announce test results as soon as they are collected or postpone this as you see fit if you are collecting mailing addresses through an electronic form.
When you want results to be released immediately without taking email addresses, you can control this with a few simple steps in Google Forms.
Open the test whose results you want to issue, go to the settings section, and choose the option to issue scores to activate this feature on the form.
